Tapco Brakes

The Tapco company has been making Tapco brakes for nearly 50 years (established in 1961).

They specialize in making Tapco brakes for the siding installation industry. Their entire line of brakes is known for being 'tough'. They manufacture both portable and commercial sheet metal brakes. All of their portable brakes are designed to use in the field which offers the maximum flexibility for siding installers.

Along with brakes, they make roll forming tools, adjustable, multi angle saw tables and a lot of other metal fabricating tools.

Tapco Brakes - MX Series

If you are interested in the commercial line of Tapco brakes and not their portable line then you should look at their MX series of tools. The MX line includes the brake and the table as well as their patented "Adjustable Max Cut Off" feature. The MX series Tapco brake will handle all vinyl applications and up to 16 gauge sheet aluminum and up to 24 gauge painted galvanized metal. The MX line is designed to reduce deflection during the bending process through the use of reinforcing ribs. The pivot are is double walled for additional strength along with an innovative design of a moving hinge systems that not only adds power to the bending process but virtually eliminates any scratching or marring of the sheet stock.

Moving on to their portable brake is the XL system of their Maxi-mum line. Even though it is a portable machine, it is capable of bending all vinyl along with up to .040 soft aluminum and up to 24 gauge sheet steel.

Tapco Brakes - Max-i-mum Series

The Max-i-mum line of Tapco brakes is great for on site architectural and industrial fabrication. It can handle just about any job with it's throat depth of nineteen inches along with a 2.375" opening. Clamping for the bending process is fast and secure (just like all of the Tapco brake line). The Max-i-mum line is available in three different lengths so it will most likely suit whatever job you have in mind. Lengths are: 14.5 feet, 12.5 feet and 8.5 feet.

Down one notch from their Max-i-mum line is their Pro 19 line of sheet metal brakes. The Pro 19 line has the same throat depth as the Max-i-mum line at 19 inches and the same front opening at 2.375". The design of the Pro 10 line speeds up the bending process by keeping the material inside the brake.

Their Pro 19 Series comes in three lengths: 6.5', 10.5' and 12.5'.

The next step down in the Tapco brake line is the Pro 14 Series. The 14 in the model number refers to the throat depth. Even though the throat depth is less that their top two lines, the front opening remains at 2.375". The actual capabilities of the Pro 14 are very similar to the Pro 19 series. The Pro 14 is available in three lengths: 8.5', 10.5' and 12.5'. They even make a heavy duty version of the 10.5' brake.

Their most economical Tapco brake is their Windy SP line. Like the others except for their MX series, this is a portable brake too. Capable of 130 degree overbends and a stainless steel bending edge makes this the right choice for a lot of siding installers. The Windy SP line is available in only two lengths: 8.5' and 10.5'.

With the wide variety machines available in the Tapco brake line, they have the machine to fit the job you need to get done.
